Slavic Christian, who are you living for?

Slavic Christian churches are raising fat, comfortable sheep that move between pastures instead of committing to one that will convict them of sin, encourage them to get involved in serving others, etc. Parents are doing the same in their homes by raising soy boys and masculine girls.

Now more than ever, Slavic Christians are confused and trying to find their identity in something, to be someone, and fit in somewhere.

As long as they’re not looking to Christ, they will go in circles, and nothing will change.

This problem didn’t start in church. It started in the home.

When mommy and daddy don’t know who they are in Christ, they’ll look for their identity in their ministry, making money, addiction, secret sexual lifestyles, impulsive behavior, flashy vacations, luxurious purchases, abusive marriage, or even bearing children—hoping that one, or all of these things, will help them feel worthy of love or valuable.

Then they raise children the same way.

Parents are too soft on boys while empowering girls to be “boss babes.”

We’re no longer raising dangerous gentlemen who will protect, provide, love, and lead their wives and children. We’re raising men who chase dopamine through their jobs, sex, fancy toys, vacations, etc.

We’re raising girls to be independent outside the home because being a mom is too “boring.” She must “chase her dreams” at the expense of her husband cooking, cleaning, and watching the kids after coming home from work. Women are divorcing their husbands because “he doesn’t let me have freedom and hang out as I used to.”

These same people then come to church, only to be benchwarmers or want to be entertained, as if Jesus is not a good enough reason.

Notice, we’re not raising believers to thrive in Christ. It’s all about pleasing oneself, feeling good, and looking good.

We have it backward.

We don’t come to church to build up the body of Christ, serve one another, and seek the lost.

We don’t raise kids to be the extension of God’s Kingdom on Earth.

We don’t raise children with values such as integrity, honesty, commitment, etc.

We’re raising fun-seekers, dopamine junkies, immature legalists who are good at following mommy’s and daddy’s rules instead of revering the Lord.

The result?

Too many spiritless churches.

Too many people are trying to be in power over those rule-following churches.

None of this honors the Lord.

In fact, this behavior hurts His heart.

He’s coming for a spotless bride, not one that needs to be entertained or persuaded to love Him because His blood wasn’t enough. Our behavior shows the Lord that we don’t want HIm–in fact, we don’t need HIm at all. He is just a genie that we use to get what we want and to help us when we’re in crisis. If only we turned to Him daily for an intimate relationship. Imagine how much easier our lives would be if we lived according to Psalm 23, “The Lord is my shepherd,I will not be in need. He lets me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. He restores my soul;He guides me in the paths of righteousnessFor the sake of His name.”

 Let this sink in.
