Slavic Christian communities deadly secrets (part 2)
Dear Slavic Christian community, no matter how much awareness has been raised regarding sexual, physical, and spiritual abuse in churches and families, change is still not taking place. What do we want, more suicides, homicides, and juicy news reports to gossip about?
As reports arise of new abuse cases in our community, I am embarrassed for my people.
I’m shocked at the same pastors who hide the stories and try to deal with them behind closed doors.
I’m repulsed by the perpetrators who run from the consequences awaiting their secret crimes.
I’m ashamed of our religious culture that created this mess, all the way back to our Soviet roots.
We taught our people how to live secret lives and conceal their sins.
This is abominable in our God’s eyes.
How dare men worship him on Sundays while simultaneously raping our young women in the same service?
How dare men preach and worship on stage while beating their wives at home that morning?
How dare men bear the name while using porn, drugs, and alcohol in the church bathroom?
How dare leaders preach that women can’t leave husbands who are cheating on them with underage girls by saying, “it’ll save his soul?!”
How dare leaders not involve the police the first time something like this happens, or the second, third, or fourth?
How dare leaders run an organization that is supposed to represent God’s heavenly kingdom on earth while reflecting none of it?
At this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if everyone knew somebody who has been hurt in and out of the church, and nothing was done about it.
These Slavic church leaders are legalistic, fear and shame-based, power-hungry officials who rule with an iron fist, and attack anyone who puts a magnifying glass to their behavior.
These same leaders are living corrupt, double lives, using church money as their own, cheating on their wives, molesting girls and boys they force into silence, and then blacklist anyone who speaks up or leaves their congregation.
These sins have been ongoing for decades. I’ve spoken about them for years. The Slavic-speaking social media influencer with the Instagram account name @russreasons is on the case, and the result is a lack of change, no accountability, poor authority involvement, and little healing.
Dear God, do something soon.
Please awaken my people to seek you, rather than seeking pleasure, power, and control, while bearing your name. Expose more sins so justice and revival can come for all those who have been affected and have turned from you because of their pain. Shine light into EVERY dark place in EVERY heart and home that claims to “know you” for reverence to grow, repentance to be made, and restoration to take place among my people. WE cannot live one more year this way. Blood has been spilled, and justice needs to be served for those souls not to have died in vain.
***Dear reader, if you or someone you love has experienced similar situations, please report them to the police. Please seek counseling. I’m here for you
