New Year vision for Slavic Christian community
Up to this point, I was known as the “Slavic Therapist who exposed the sins of my community,” and that is true.
But after 3 years of doing so, I realized there is no hope for change unless I point people to the One who can transform our wicked hearts-starting with mine.
This year, I will be intentional about taking my eyes off the problems that “gave me publicity” and will return to my First Love-the One who gave me the vision to launch this business in the first place.
The original vision in December 2020 was to share the love of Christ with my hurting community.
Starting today, I will go back to that goal but it will come with some losses:
I will no longer blame or support those who blame our ancestors for “not teaching us better,” or criticizing them for what they did teach us.
No more exposing sin without looking in my own heart and mind that needs a Savior daily.
No more tearing others down without offering hope and grace.
No more supporting individuals who complain while doing nothing to change themselves.
I am adamant about this because I realized how deeply rooted my community is in its victim and slave mentality.
My people call themselves “Christians” but aren’t thriving in His freedom, hope, joy, faith, love, power, and authority of the Holy Spirit. We are poor emotionally and financially because we don’t trust in God’s Word, that He will provide for us beyond our imagination. We don’t trust that He can bring salvation to our loved ones and try to save them through condemnation and judgment. We don’t trust that He will fulfill the promises the Scriptures are full of BECAUSE WE DON’T READ SCRIPTURE.
Every client I will serve, as well as for me and home, will practice taking responsibility for OUR thoughts, feelings, and actions to reflect Christ daily. When we take our eyes off those around us, by no longer expecting our fulfillment to come from them because we realize that it’s been rooted in Christ the whole time. He wants us to pursue Him to receive it.
There is one solution for EVERY spiritual, emotional, and relational problem: “Turn your eyes to Jesus to imitate what He would do in this situation.” There is no human that can give us the answers we’re looking for because WE HAVE ALL FALLEN SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD AND EACH ONE OF US NEEDS A SAVIOR-DAILY.
This is the ONLY way we WILL BECOME THE CHANGE WE WANT TO SEE IN OUR COMMUNITY. We can’t wait for our parents or children to change. We must lead this revival with our eyes on the One who changes hearts.
It’s time for our children to see godliness, holiness, and righteousness in us, their parents.
It’s time that the grace of the gospel is lived out in our homes.
It’s time that we produce mindsets of victory as children of The King.
It’s time that we become God’s hands and feet and love people until they ask us why.
Change starts with me. It’s time
